Why Recreational Soccer

Our Recreational League has a wide range of benefits for children and teens. Participation in a team sport can introduce and foster character growth, as well as provide for their physical and emotional well-being. Recreational soccer is a soccer program mainly focusses on the enjoyment and development of soccer players without the intensity of high-level competition. The intent of recreational soccer is to provide an opportunity for the players to have fun, learn the fundamentals of the sport, and develop a lifelong love of the game. Our Recreational League is available to kids born between 2022-2008.

Spring Season

A training curriculum has been customized for each age division. There will be one optional practice per week based on coaches' availability.  All games will be played at Ryan Park on Friday nights. Practices will vary Monday through Thursdays between 5:00pm and 8:00pm depending on age groups. The Spring season is fun with friends!

Summer Season

The Escondido Soccer Club is offering an engaging and active summer recreational program. Soccer is an endurance sport. This is a great way for players to not only maintain skills, but to build on them as well. Players will have optional practices with games on Friday nights. Games will start in June through August. No games on the 4th of July. All games will be played at Ryan Park.  Practice will be 1 day a week, day will vary.

Fall Season
The Fall Season will take place early September through November. It is a 10-game season.  Season will start for U6 through U12 Saturday, September 6th through Saturday, November 8th. Playoffs will be the weeknights of November 10th through the 13th. Semi-finals and Final games will be held on Saturday, November 15th. Cost for fall season includes uniforms (socks, jersey, shorts) and referee fees. Practice days are either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday, this will be determined by the coach. U14 through U19 divisions will be playing in our SOCAL league involves traveling on Saturday and/or Sunday games.  U14 through U19 starts September 13th through November 15th.

All Stars

Our All-Star Program is designed to provide Recreational players the opportunity to experience games in a tournament setting with a higher level of play. As such, the All-Star Program can be a stepping stone opportunity for those players who participate as preparation for a competitive Surf tryout. It typically lasts from November to January, with trainings, practice sessions and tournaments. All-Stars 25/26 Season will run November 17, 2025, thru January 4, 2026. All teams will participate in (4) All-Star tournaments.  All players who are registered through the Escondido Soccer Club during the Fall Season are eligible to participate in tryouts.
